1773 x Trishes – The Luv Bug

Trishes (Vienna) and 1773 (Chicago) teamed up take us on a journey through the various dimensions of love - “The Luv Bug“. For now it is a digital release (the deluxe edition is available on bandcamp and contains all the instrumentals for one euro extra) only but a vinyl version (+ two remixes) is set to be released at the end of March.

In comes „The Luv Bug“, a concept album entirely devoted to the big topic: From the sparks of initially meeting an attractive woman (Fa- miliar Stranger) to planning the rest of your life together (Future Love), from make-ups (Keep On Loving) to break-ups (Summer‘s Gone) and from fantasizing about an ethereal beauty (Out Of Orbit) to deception (Adesina), Chicago MCs Just Jay & Wisdm O.N.E. a.k.a. 1773 touch on a wide variety of subjects.

There is also a mix for duzzdownsan’s mix series “zmashed” containing rap love songs only: zmashed-10-luv-rap-by-trishes.

Das Konzept dahinter könnte Scheibsta’s Leidenschaft Bilder in Reimen zu malen nicht besser entsprechen und ist dabei so simpel wie effektiv: 3 Menschen, erzählen aus ihrem Leben. Es sind nur kurze Episoden, Momentaufnahmen dreier Silhouetten, die Scheibsta in seinen Texten skizziert. Der musikalische Unterbau von Dyzma bietet viel Platz für Lyrics ohne dabei je in den Hintergrund zu geraten. Im Gegenteil: Die Mischung aus elektronischen Elementen, Samples und live Musikern geht mit der Stimme Scheibstas eine harmonische Symbiose ein. The concept behind their joint-venture is quite simple: Take an old genre of music, sample and flip it into dancefloor-ready beats, from HipHop to House. In the case of their debut EP “Swapping Swingers” the focus is on the Swinging 1920s. Now, Restless Leg Syndrome captured that musical vibe in the hopes of turning 2010s dances similarly rowdy!

Nachdem sich Mainloop, Fid Mella und ich mit mehr oder weniger großem Erfolg durch den diesjährigen Beat Fight #2 gekämpft haben - An dieser Stelle sei gesagt: Gratulation zum Finaleinzug, Mella! - wird noch nachgelegt! Erstens gibts hier nach und nach die gesamte Beat Fight Dokumentation online auf Splashmag zum Nachsehen und zweitens wird es auch noch eine Compilation mit Beats der beteiligten Produzenten geben. Dieser Aufgabe hat sich das kölner Label MPM angenommen und wird knapp vor Weihnachten (23.12.) noch ein Vinyl dazu rausballern. Näheres findet ihr auf der MPM Homepage.

The Vienna based Dusty Crates are a vivid beat-collective founded in 2009 by Melik & Simp later joined by Olinclusive, Clefco, Pad Prank, Ra-B and Prokobeats. Exactly one year after the first release, the crew is already back to launch their second release, “Out of order 2″. This album is about to hit your harddrives heavily. Three of the producers will also be performing their new music live at the official release party on thursday, December 1st at Xpedit in Vienna. Since we are sure all of you are into the wonderful feeling of sloppy beats and samples from dusty wax combined with the warm feeling of analogue synths, we would like to invite you to come on a journey that is about to turn the whole world around you upside down!
