On July 3rd, Dj Buzz´ new baby drops on Personal Records!
“Cosmic War Of The Planets” is a thrilling audio / video kinda thing, that will blow your ears and eyes!
From an old italo - us science fiction movie, Buzz seperated audio and video samples in order to give the movie as well as the music a new look and feel.
The result is a future classic, if by now you still don´t know what we´re talking about, have a look at the first video edit and single release “Stardust“, featuring Detroit´s finest Frank Nitty & viennese future funk expert Dorian Concept.

Guess what happens, if Captain Future hooks up with Hexstatic, Madlib and Dj Shadow for a drink at the next pub? Perry Rodan records in writing for that extra trash factor, and Terry Gilliam adds up some cinematographic finishing? This clash in time, space and style seems self evident.
Vienna based producer Dj Buzz managed to turn this rather fictional and fantastic meeting into a brilliant journey in sound and vision. A multimedia remix voyage per excellence.
Buzz took original samples from an old US- italo science fiction movie, joining the soundscapes and movieflics to a simply outstanding masterpiece entitled “Cosmic War Of The Planets”. On record as on stage, this rumpus features viennese future funk expert Dorian Concept, the musician & producer duo “Twintowas” and Dj Chris Fader, as well as Detroit´s finest Frank Nitty on the 7″ release “Stardust“. The viennese design studio „Ichiban” takes credits for editing the videos plus the Dvd, that comes along with the lovely designed LP (artwork by franke).

Am Strom HipHop Festival #1

Am 12. und 13. Juni 2009 findet in Greifenstein/NÖ im „Strombauamt“ das erste österreichische HipHop-Festival statt. In unmittelbarer Nähe des wunderschönen Donauarms wird es eine Open Air-Bühne mit 44 österreichischen Acts, eine Lounge, verschiedene Stände für Merch und kulinarische Versorgung, eine „Bibliothek“, legale Wände rund um die Location für 18 geladene Writer, ein Autodrom(!) mit 10 heimischen Djs für die Beschallung, einen 2on2 Breaker Battle mit 48 Tänzern, natürlich einen großen Zeltplatz und vieles, vieles mehr geben.
„am strom“ möchte die aktuelle österreichische Szene möglichst ganzheitlich widerspiegeln und dadurch vor allem für die nach wie vor größtenteils sehr uninformierte, ignorante mediale Öffentlichkeit eine ernst zu nehmende Werkschau auf die Beine stellen die hoffentlich zu einer zukünftigen Plattform mutiert.

DAS STROMBAUAMT GREIFENSTEIN liegt 20 km von Wien entfernt, direkt an der Donau, an den Hängen des Wienerwaldes und am Beginn des Tullnerfeldes. ZELTPLÄTZE für CAMPING sind genügend vorhanden!

Ps: The Bpms aren´t exactly a 88,5 - we wanted to correct this, but won´t post the exact bpms after all. Most of the mixes / acapellas have the right tempo, some don´t at all.  It should be easy for y´all to get the grip on the right tempo, if you can´t do so, you´d better listen to more rap music and keep on trying to get it done right.

Im Oktober letzten Jahres releaste er seinen Langspieler “HEY PLAYA”, der für viele eine Offenbarung war und für Black Music orientierten Sound aus Österreich, vielleicht sogar dem deutschsprachigen Raum generell, richtungsweisend ist. Ja es ist möglich edgy Rapsound mit souligen Melodien zu vereinen, und das auf Deutsch. Von wem hier dir Rede ist? Von niemand geringerem als DEPHJOE der als Gründungsmitglied des legendären Supercity Soundsystems und Langzeitgefährte der Waxos, mit seinem im Oktober 08 erschienen Langspieler “HEY PLAYA”, nicht nur die Messlatte weiter nach oben legen konnte sondern auch beweist das er sich zu einem beachtlichen Vokalisten entwickelt hat. Am 27.2. stellt er gemeinsam mit den Twintowers (Circus, Team Terreible), dem Waxos Member DJ Buzz und einem Special Guest an den Keys ein für alle mal alles klar.
